Today is Friday, Friday is special for this area as it is what is considered the Sabbath. Most of the locals stay home and basically do what we would on our day off such as on Sunday. Since most of the locals are off on Fridays it allows our office the chance to round up all the various project information for the next week or so, verify that all the materials are in and ready, ensure there is enough work for the unskilled laborers and so forth. Our team doesn't get the day off. Our goal is to however to trade off and take every other Friday off once we teach each other more about our jobs. A bit more information about our interpreters; Most of them do not let their friends and families know what they are doing. This is because the opposition would harm their families and or friends. The terps are allowed to apply for US citizenship after a couple of years and yes, all three of our terps plan on migrating with their families which is allowed. This would however only be their wife and kids. so in the end they have to decide if they want to leave the rest of their families and possible never see them again. It would be hard....

That WOULD be really hard . . .
Wow, that would be really hard. Its good they can take their immediate family with them. It is probably worth it in the long run, but gee, that would be tough.
Very Proud of you Son
Dad
As I have one of the terps with me all the time we get the chance to talk a lot. Question are always being asked about how it will be for them when they get to move to the States. How will they be treated, how will they like college, or the cities. It sure has made me think of home a lot. We are one lucky and yes a bit spoiled.
